Phase One has developed a Sony only version named: Capture One Express (for Sony) 8.0. Capture One is a powerful RAW editing tool, competing against Adobe Lightroom and Apple Aperture. Most of us should've heard of Capture One (by Phase One).
I'm waiting to see what Apple has up its sleeve for the replacement of Aperture/iPhoto.I do all my post processing on my iMac. I don't like to "manipulate" the photos, but only to correct/enhance what is needed from my mistakes. I'm not comfortable with any of the post processing programs, since I'm more of a purist when it comes to photography. If you have time and want to play with it, by all means. Thanks Antony for your insight. I would not suggest you switching to Capture One Express just because it's available. As long as you can get the result you like, you don't really have to follow expert's way. If you already have access to Lightroom or Aperture, just use the one you are familiar with and the one you like. With Capture One Express, I like the way it presents, and the way I can easily apply presets and adjustments (Of course, Lightroom can do those). (I haven't figured out a way of adding and organising photos on iPad without using iPhoto.) Although I am paying A$9.99 monthly, I hardly use Lightroom to be honest. I use iPhone so I can add and organise photos to my iPads for other use. I guess that's why I still don't like the Lightroom workflow. I usually do my "minimal" amount of sharpening and colour collection in Photoshop just before cropping, resizing and adding watermark.
